What You’ll Find

Mo Mowlam Play Park is a brilliant free play park located within the beautiful Stormont Estate. It’s a large, inclusive space with more than 40 pieces of play equipment and plenty to keep children of different ages entertained.

The huge castle-themed play area is always a favourite, with climbing frames, high-level walkways, slides and lots of opportunities for imaginative play. Older children will love the tall pyramid tower, tube slides, climbing nets and double cableway where they can race each other.

There’s also a separate toddler area with smaller slides, swings, climbing walls and equipment that feels more manageable for younger children.

One of the best things about Mo Mowlam is how inclusive it is. You’ll find a wheelchair-accessible swing and roundabout, a sensory play area, communication boards and equipment designed so children of different abilities can enjoy the park together.

The natural play zone has balance beams, stepping logs and boulders for climbing, while the surrounding Stormont Estate offers woodland walks, open lawns and plenty of space for a picnic.

For the Grown Ups

There are plenty of benches and picnic tables around the play park, so you can enjoy a coffee while keeping an eye on the children. The toilets, baby-changing facilities and nearby car park make this an easy and practical day out, especially with younger children.

The surrounding Stormont Estate is lovely for a walk, with woodland trails, open lawns and plenty of space for a family picnic.
